Does anybody know if the oil line fittings on a 70 are a different size than those on an 84? The reason I ask is because I am trying to retrofit an 84 front mounted oil cooler onto my 70, which does not currently have one. If anybody knows the size for each I would appreciate the info.
Thanks! BK |

Thanks for the reply, Mr. Walker. Any idea what the sizes are? 16AN Vs. 12AN?????
Thanks again, BK |

BK,
The threads are not AN, they're metric. Something like M22 (on the 84 hardware), but not sure. ------------------ Kevin 87 Carrera |

Obviuosly I have no idea what they are! I was going from an after market catalog who had the oil lines in AN fittings. Good thing I didn't order anything from them!
Thanks for the heads up! BK |

I believe the oil cooler lines are 32 mm. Some time in the early 70's, the oil tank line went from 30 to 32mm. So if you're installing a late front oil cooler system on an early 911, you'll need an adapter(s) of some sort on both ends.
FWIW, I got AN-to-metric oil cooler adapters (2) from AJ-USA and an oil line-to-oil tank adapter (1) from Otto's. Sherwood Lee http://members.rennlist.org/911pcars |
