Post 86 911 brakes. clunk!!!!

I love this board. When I am Slowing down just before I come to a complete stop I Here a distinct metal sounding clunk. Any clues? thanks in advance

sounds like almost under the gearshift but more forward than rearword. cant pin pont it better than that

old shocks can knock. a brake pad that has up and down play will knock. non rubber mounted sway bars knock. loose tie rod ends knock. check the upper strut mounts and the ball joints and tie rod ends for wear. the torsion bars front and rear can knock on their housings when bushings wear out.
