I'm in the middle of a brown to black interior conversion. Got the seats back from the upholstery shop today......Wow they look gr8. Does anyone know how I can remove the center console in my '82SC? I need to dye the brown trim around it and I don't see how the console bolts/screws down. All I can see is the 2 phillips screws on each side of forwardmost part of the console. Any help would be appreciated.

It's been a long time, but if I remember correctly, there are some more bolts or screws under the cover that is held in place with the screws you see. I also seem to rememer having to take the switches out of the console to get is apart completely.
Sorry my memory is fuzzy and it has been a year since I took it out. I do remember being proud of myself for figuring it out, so there is definitely a hidden set of fasteners. Olivier 82 SC |

If it's the same console as the carrera than there is one more screw hidden under carpet right under emergency brake lever.
