Question on 3 Pin CDI BOSCH

Hello,

i've an old 3 Pin CDI with ZX82 Zener died.
It's difficult to have this kind of zener here.

If i use a TVS(transient volatage suppresso) as 1.5KE 82A (82 volt)

is ok or not?

Thanks for any Help

Bye MAX

The 82V Zener sounds about right.
Also....check the SCR which is screwed into the housing (heat sink).
I replaced mine with one that was rated at 40A instead of the original which is rated at about 6A.
Use heat sink compound like Wakeman's.
Run all the traces with your iron if necessary to eliminate breaks.
Good luck
Bob
