I think that's cool, but that's also a lot of money.
Agreed on the charger. -Wayne

Careful Netspeed. I know looks can be deceiving, but I'm guessing 14 here.

Interesting. Definitely not the only electric powered 911 in the state. The shop here in Boulder that does all my tranny builds helped on the install work for a '95 Cab. Just this week the car's owner emailed to let us know that it was alive and running. Something like 400ft/lb of torque almost immediately off the line...

I just checked out the website of the company Evporsche http://www.evporsche.com
They'll build you a GT1 or a 962 if you want....

An uber light weight 912 is the best candidate for that. I could get real interested in this. What do you think the electrics and electronics would cost for a DIY'r?

check out electro automotive, they sell complete kits(14,000 for a 914 conversion)and i think that includes suspension upgrades.they also sell basic DC motor kits(around 6,500)and AC motor kits starting at 9,500,or you could buy a motor and machine all your own parts for around 3,500.

All that torque is available immediately. Electric motors develop full torque at zero rpm.
Bet it'll spin those babies like no tomorrow. Since the 'fillup' can be put anywere, it makes sense to put it where there's already a flap. I'd want to put playing cards in the wheels with clothespins for some noise, though. |

Yep, would have to burn a CD with normal flat 6 driving sounds.

Not sure I would get out of the garage, but she could keep recharging all the time!
