Trying To Locate The Factory Wiring To The Rear Speakers
I'm replacing the rear speakers in my 85 Targa and want to use the factory speaker wires if I can find them. The current speakers are connected to the radio with aftermarket wires added by a previous owner.
When I removed the rear panel and speakers today I couldn't easily find the original speaker wires just the new ones that were added. Based on a search of the archive's I found information suggesting that the factory wiring runs along the passenger side to the rear. I haven't removed the right rear door panel to see if its there but might do that next. Just wondering if anyone knows exactly where it exits or the route it follows? Thanks

I found the wires running along the lower corner of the longitudinal right where it meets the floor pan. The original carpet has to be pulled up just a bit to reveal them.

Did you try going backwards from the center console fader control?

My car doesn't have a fader control! Is it suppose to?
I'll take a closer look tomorrow all along the passenger side floor and rear seat area and see if I can locate the wires. Thanks
