Help - Yellow 911's - Carrera 3.0
Hey guys,
I need some help… I’ve bought a ’77 Carrera 3.0. It had a C2 kit on it and has a yellow PEARL paint - it's hard to see in the pics. I’m stripping it (love all the stuff under the carpets) and preparing it for Historic Racing – I’ve swapped the kit for the original bumpers/wing and the roll cage is going in this week. I’m going to repaint the car in an original yellow from 1976-77. I’ve had a look at PaintScratch and there are a few that where available – Talbot Yellow, Sunflower Yellow, Rally Yellow & Light Yellow. Firstly, do any of you know what yellow was available on Carrera 3’s? Secondly, please post any pics of yellow 911’s… would love to see them. Pic when I bought it: Pic now: Cheers, Nick |

nic, you know my views on yellow cars... however, if you MUST paint it yellow then i reluctantly give my approval for this:
(i think the gunnar site has a full story on the resto of this car)

There was a yellow during that period... I think it was called "Bahama Yellow". I've seen it in the flesh a couple of times - different/cool - And I don't normally like yellow...

Nick;
The colors available should have been Talbot Yellow (106) and Light Yellow (117.) JR

Yep, this is an original factory color called light yellow, or hellgelb in German. Paint code is 117 (see pic below of paint plate on mine). This was a standard color that available on 1976 and 1977 930s.

Yellow Cars
Here is my car. 1969 Corvette yellow, not exactly standard, but it sure looks good on dark gray days we get in the UK.

How about Sahara Beige?, it is a buttery yellow and I know of this Carrera 3.0 in Australia in Sahara
Color code 516. Don't let the "beige" throw you off, its yellow. Only sorta kinda looks beige in the shade. In person it is yellow.

I don't hope to break any hearts, but my car, as seen above in Corvette yellow, is now repainted to its original Polo Red !!!
I liked the yellow, but not many original 1969 cars are around. Best Dom
