Where to do car work
I'm sure there are other apt. dwellers out there. I am looking for suggestions as to where to work on cars. Have one good friend with garage full of toys, M3's, Yamaha R1's, remote copters, planes, etc. but he just got married so no more Saturday's spent in the garage drinking beer...rats. Of course, considering what his wife looks like I don't blame him!

Look for a place that will rent out thier bays by the hour, like a U-Wrench or something? There must be some in major cities? I am actually thinking half ass about opening one in my old city.
The need is definetly around You can also rent garages by the month, check classifieds. Shawn |
Storage locker. Rent one big enough for a car and tools.

Renting a residential garage is often tougher than you'd think. I've been looking for one in Chicago to do some cosmetic work on my '66 Rolls-Royce and people are leery of that, it seems. And though 4 or 5 places advertise bays for rent in the yellow pages, none of them actually do this anymore. Like davis, I've thought it might be worth opening such a place, as my neighborhood has quite a few Porsche owners living in apartments. Will a storage place actually let someone work on the car there? I've never heard of someone doing that...
