How do I shorten the shift linkage more
Hi guys/gals...
Well I'm pretty shure the rebuilt 915 trans from Vertex is good...I thought It was jumping out of 2nd, but if/when I get it in the it stays. Problem seems to be the adjustment..as if I dont have the rod short enough to-pull-it into 2nd...the real bite is that I have the rod all the way on the coupler end in the back tunnel. Is there some kind of adjustment in the Tower part of the shifter where I can shorten the length of the rod by a "few" mm--its really all I need...... Tia |
are you sure the front shifter bushing is in good shape? there should be plenty of adjustment room at the coupler. there's no adjustment in the shifter unit itself. had one a while back that had a rusted rear torsion tube, so bad that it was rotating, and screwing up the shifting. see if the shift handle has been heated and bent.
