Summer Oil

I just wanted to get some suggestions about what type of oil to run in my 911 here in Houston this summer. I am leaning toward straight 30 weight. What do you guys think. Thanks, Neal

Hey Neil,
This thread is more (way more) info on oil for 911s.
Ultimate Motor Oil Thread or Why we hate CJ4/SM oils
It will take a few hours (days) to read through that!!
I think a lot of guys are leaning towards Brad Penn 20/50 for hot climates. Others like Swepco sold by our host and others. Still lots of choices but the thread leans towards these...

Neal, depends where you are. I run 40 wt. year round in SoCal. There is not much of an advantage to the single weights these days. Some say, that a thick single weight will keep some oil leaks away - the reason I started, others say running a multi-weight, like Danny suggested.

That said, I can find the older Rotella T in single wt. with ease out here, so that is another reason I stick with it.

Dave
