Post slight grinding sound 30-60mph

Lately I've noticed on my daily driver 83 sc that driving in a straight line between 30-60 mph. there is a slight grinding sound under the car.

Could this be that the bearings need to be lubricated. I've had the car since 75K, now it's at 102K and I havent lubricated the bearings. Does this sound like the problem?

Also, taking turns at slow speeds doesnt produce the sound.

any ideas?

Emanuel,

We share the same name, except I spell mine with 2 "M"s

if you think about it, we may be the only 2 Em(m)anuels in the country with a 911 83sc

Oh, so you're a total copycat, are you? :-) So how do you feel about the nickname "Manny?" It's always amazed me that, in orde to prevent people from calling me this, I have to practically threaten them with physical violence; simply saying "I prefer Emanuel" never does the trick.

I absolutely HATE "Manny"

It sounds too much like Fanny, or Nanny...or "Manny's Pizza" or "Manny's Auto Body". I even hate typing that word!

I prefer Emmanuel as well and I tell people that right up front..

Actually, I was going to thank Clay for the reminder - what were we talking about again? Oh, that noise - as you mention, we've both got 83 SCs and mine is making a sound as well, but I only hear it when I start the car from cold. It's not related to the brakes or clutch, and it stops once I get moving. A friend is coming over this Sunday to help me pinpoint it. I'll let you know.

Emanuel
