Stock looking speakers?
I'd like to replace my 25 year old speakers with something a little more modern while maintaining a stock or near stock appearance. Everything that I have found appears to stick out and have flashy (rice-racer) grills
Any recommendations on quality 5.25 and 4x6 speakers that will either fit under the stock grills or have plain black grills? |

Just went through this myself this past week. Kenwood makes a 4x6 available through Crutchfield. They will tell you the won't fit but they will, mine are in. I looked all over the internet and all over Houston and this was the only thing that was even close to stock appearance. I was also able to find a parts depot through Kenwood and order an extra set grills as this will come up in another 20 years.
Before you install them you can take a razor blade and GENTLY scrape off the red paint on the logo and the grill will totally black. I think this is as good a suggestion as any............. |
