What's the best way to clean my undercarriage on my 88 Carrera?

I want to know what is the best way to clean the under cariage of my 88 Carrera? It has 22 years of crud underneath it and I want it off. Should I pressure wash it? Gunk it first ?

Thanks
Jack

Simple Green (or something similar), light brushing/scrubbing on the tough spots and follow up with light pressure wash.

I used liquid laundry detergent poured directly on a stiff brush (and other tools) and applied to a wet surface.

All the above, plus a lot of elbow grease... Zeke has it right, it takes body contact. Once you get it clean, then a light washing will keep it up.
