How can I clean hard dust brake

My Fuchs wheels have a crust of dust brake on the inner side of the wheel. this crust is very hard and is stuck to the wheel. It looks like a rust scale but the wheels are not corroded, it is brake dust that has hardened.
How can I clean this

I use dishwashing soap like Dawn and a scrub pad.

Avoid scrub pads that etch the surface and make the wheels even harder to clean in the future. Use a PH balanced wheel cleaner (I use P21S spray gel) and let it soak. DO NOT USE regular wheel cleaners cause it will mess the anodizing. If needed use a soft brush on the second dose. When they are clean put 2 good coats of wax on the wheel to protect it.

Assuming you have an air compressor, buy one of the $60 gravity feed hand held blasters and use the commercially available soda to blast away brake dust without damaging wheel finish. You can get them from McMaster Carr, Harbor Freight, and others. Google for soda source - about $20 for 50 lbs.

I've used Shaklee (neighbor sold it for years) products, Basic-I (industrial strength) on lots of alum. wheels.

+1 For NO abrasives!! Whatever product you choose, let the cleaner soak (break down the residue) then scrub with soft bristle brush.

Key: Don't let it (brake dust/road dirt/etc.) build up! Take off your wheels yearly ...and clean/scrub both sides well.

Engine Degreaser (I found a gel that sticks well, Gunk maybe?) - let soak for 10-15 minutes and then power wash. You could also take a brush (it's the inside of the wheel, so you won't see any scratches) to get the really tough stuff. Mineral Spirits also work wonders.
