Hey group...
I just pulled the engine and transmission together and had a question: There is a rubber encased set of two wires that run from the front of the transmission back to the engine. The two wires look to be 16-guage. One is green with a yellow stripe, the other is gray with a brown stripe. They attach at the very front of the 915 tranny, beside the shifting shaft. Can anyone tell me what the function of these wires are? Thanks !

If you're talking about these wires, those would be for your reverse sensor.

Tranny wires..........
Those two wires go to the backup light switch. The connection to the chassis is made at the 14 pin connector next to the electrical center in the engine compartment.

hey, that is the ones I was asking about. I appreciate the help !
If that is the reverse sensor, then what is the single black wire going mid-way into the passenger side of the 915? Please let me know. Thanks !

That's the speed sensor for your speedometer. If you want to learn more about your car, get some reference manuals like Bentley's or Haynes' for starter. Factory manual is much better. Having these manuals available to you would help you learn more about your car. Good luck. Tony |
