Anyone ever fitted a fiberglass RSR front Fender?

I'm thinking I might use some fiberglass front fenders temporarily until I get my steel ones mounted, just to have a car to race this season. Has anyone had any experience with any of the different brands in terms of fit/finish? GT Racing is local to me, so I can pick them up. They offer the pair of fenders for $705 (Plus tax for me...about 50 bucks), so for $750 I am in business.

Anyone have any suggestions, experience?

When I get my steel ones done, I'll probably sell the fiberglass and make some of the money back.

Thanks!

I bought carbon fiber bumpers, hood, rear deck lid and RSR fender from Hank at GT Racing. I couldn't ask for a better fit.

Were your RSR Fenders for an early car? what did you have to do to fit them?

I have them mounted on a 1987 911 (9" fenders on the front and 11" on the rear). I used Camloc 1/4 turn stainless steel aircraft fastners. I love the way it looks.

Hey Michael, I used AIR for my fenders. The fit is OK for fiberglass. They don't fit great around where they meet the cowl but for what you want to do it should be fine. I had to drill all the mounting holes for attachment and also used the headlight attachment parts off of the old fenders. Used a lot of rivets for that. They look great from anything over 20 feet!! I forgot what I paid for them. They are plenty sturdy. Also the fuel cover is a bit of a pain getting the latch setuypt to work. Lots of adjusting. I think there is a picture of them in your project 69 car. Mine is a 69 also. BTW your car is coming along GREAT

Here are some pictures. My fastners look great from any distance. They are perfectly spaced out and the the screws are all orientated in the same direction. I'll take more pictures tomorrow.

Hey Mark...it looks great, but I'm more interested in complete front Fenders vs. just fiberglass flares.

Thanks though.

I haven't had any fiberglass fenders that fit 'great'. Some do fit good though. Hanks are raw, as in race car quality, which is fine for a race car. Expect ALOT of fabrication/trimming/fitting to make them fit. If you're trying to make a concours street car, not going to happen.

I've got fiberglass RSR fenders fitted to my current project car. Originally I had GT Racing fenders, then swapped them for Getty fenders.

The Getty fenders appear much nicer out of the box but still took a bunch of time to fit to the car (and I'm still not done).

From now on I'm sticking to Getty panels for everything except perhaps bumpers. AIR, Rennspeed, Getty, and GT Racing all seem to have decent bumpers.

I've heard similar things about GT Racing....like his mold isn't quite right. I've heard good things about Getty and Rennspeed (where I'm leaning) though.
