Whenever I have the top down on my 90 C4 I feel hot air blowing up through the opening where the emergency brake pokes through. It doesn't do this with the top up, so I guess that it's an air pressure thing. Is this normal?

No I don't think that's normal. (Neither is a monkey driving a Porsche) Anyway, If you remove your coin tray. (The one right behind the e-brake) Or it might be a removable plate behind the coin tray, I can't remember. I believe you can see down into the center tunnel. There is a body plug that if missing can allow hot air from the engine/trans area to reach the center tunnel and cabin. Maybe that's your problem.
