![]() I just bought some OMP Rec seats for my 72S.. They have bottom mounts. I thought it would be a total piece of cake to install..Well this is not so easy..The sliders locking mechinism is on the inside of the tunnel. So I thought I would buy some alum. stock, and custom fab. However that is way easyer said than done.. Without welding equipment and more tools that I have. My question is, will those seat adapters for putting new stle seats help at all or should I just go to my raceshop, Rothsport i.e. Rennsport." who are the shop for Rennsport" and have them put them in.. I told those guys I could do it, so if I go there I will have to eat alot of crow..Wayne Savage whos looking looking at bbq. thinking about crow |

Before you eat the crow take a look at the Sparco sliders and the Brey Krause sidemounts and slider actuator rod. If I knew more about the details I could help better.

When I installed a race seat in my 914 vintage race car I did away with the slider mechanism. I used some 1 inch x 1/8 inch steel and bent two mounts that used the stock floor holes, but it is a little harder for an old guy like me to get in and out of. If you need the adjusters, I'd let the shop do it especially if welding is involved and you are not comfortable doing your own. Good luck.
