I searched for a while but................:confused:

Thanks Gunter and Scott
this is what I am doing tonight. Checking all the plug locations are right.

What is the name of each part?
CSV =

I read the question and immediately thought. 'Oh, Gunther will answer this one...". Oops, I guess even he was stumped.

WUR=warm up regulator

AAR= air advance regulator?

Warm Up Regulator
Cold Start Valve
Auxiliary Air Regulator
Airflow Sensor Contact

All are CIS components

Gunter,

The color of the sockets & plugs for CIS components like WUR, AAR, CSV, Air sensor switch, etc. were not the same from harness to harness. While most of the CSV I've seen were BLUE, some WUR and AAR were in gray or black. I believe the color coding of the wires were consistently maintained but not the color of the sockets/plugs for CIS parts. A post recently showed a green color for the air sensor switch. And found a brown color too. So we can not use the color as a standard guide for the connectors unlike the wiring harness.

I would think that Porsche used the color code to prevent accidental connections to the wrong plug and I find it hard to believe that they would confuse things by mixing connector-colors.

The differences may be due to an after-market replacement of the connectors because these Bosch parts are pretty common on other vehicles.

I am sure that a newer SC harness would show the correct colors.
These 2 seem to be fairly consistent:
CSV = blue
ASC = green

That leaves us with black, brown and gray.
WUR = gray ??
AAR = black ??
FV = brown ??

Of course, the length of some wires determines the location but it is possible to switch between CSV - ASC or FV - CSV or even AAR - WUR ??

If anyone has a newer type SC harness, please, check the colors. SmileWavy

Gunter I just put a new harness on my car and the only color connectors were blue and green. This was the one for the sixteen pin to the ALT, Starter, Blower Motor, and such.

O.K.
I clearly remember colors for the WUR, AAR and FV on a '82 CIS, just forgot which colors went where.
Hmm...........it's a mystery. :)
