Oil tank sender leak?

I seem to have a bit of a leak at the sender on the side of my 85 oil tank.

Is it usually just the gasket, or does the sender its self typically leak through.

Thx

I found two cracks in my tank next to the mounting studs.

Cleaned and soldered them and then stiffened the area around the mounts with epoxy, has not leaked yet....Knock on word.

A tip. When replacing the sender or the gasket, cut a hole in a piece of cardboard the size of that in the tank. Then practice putting the sender thru the cardboard before you do it under the car. It will save you an hour of cursing.

Thanks all!

It looks like my nuts are just loose!

I think I may have it.

Had the same issue last summer, loose nuts. Once I took care of them the leaking also stopped !

Now that I have got my nuts tightened, I think my leak has cleared up.

So I went to the coin op car this afternoon, jacked it up and tryed to clean my bottom. It is a little better and I got most of the big gunky stuff off. However I still have some grease and dirt down there. May just have to pony up and have a professionl take car of it...
