Sunroof plastic guide on '79
Hey guys,
I was hoping someone could tell me where to get one of these plastic guides on my '79 930's sunroof? I've only seen pic's of metal ones of similar type or earlier model plastic. Looking at Pelican's parts guide, it seems I'll be out roughly $400 to do cables/guides and retrofit 964 part numbered rails. I'm open to all reasonable suggestions. I can crimp on a new cable end and do the epoxy trick with the new guide if necessary. ![]() Thanks, Rob 79 930 |

alternative approach: anyone out there have an old cable with this plastic bit intact that you're dying to get rid of?

I have used cables but I also think the replacement cables are metal and will work without changing everything.

I read in another post and Pelican's parts catalog both indicate new rails are needed for the 964 numbered cable/guide assembly.
Would they encourage new rails because of the wear a metal guide causes on the original aluminum rail? |

Not sure what they are thinking but I have one that will work. Probably $45 shipped for a good one.
