Mark,
How is Beverly doing? I've been away for a week or so, and I haven't kept up on the forum. I hope all is well, you are both still in my thoughts. Roger Shadel 78 911SC |

Improving. She's off the ventilator entirely and had her trachea tube removed on Monday, and she's talking now. She has a lot of speech therapy ahead of her, but the rest of her injuries are doing fine. Bones are knitting, pneumonia's gone, etc. No real problems at all.
My brother, who works for a neurosurgeon in Virginia, sees cases like hers all the time and is very excited to see how far she's come in a short time. She's improving her cogent ability day by day, by leaps and bounds. She is basically having to relearn everything - including talking - so it's a long road she's got before she's ready to come home. Probably another couple months or more. But she's alive, and she's improving daily, so cool. ------------------ Mark Szabo 1986 911 Targa 3.2 1987 Escort 5-speed 1.9 RIP The Porsche Owners Gallery |

Mark, good news indeed! Show her all the postings of support you and her got from this board to let her know how many people are thinking good thoughts for her. Half of rehabilitation is thinking you can do it.
