Are there any problems blending sheet metal?

I have a question for everyone: are there any adverse side affects to using a later bodied galvanized body panel to an earlier non-galvanized body panel.

I did not know if there would be a reaction to two dissimilar metals?

Should not be, just dont sniff the fumes when welding.

Oh sure, take all the benefits out of it.

Chris,
The metals are not dissimilar. Galvanizing refers to a layer or coating of zinc which is applied to the steel (usually by "hot dipping" it into a vat of molten zinc) Unlike untreated steel which rapidly oxidizes until it is all gone, the zinc forms a coating of zinc oxide on its surface which prevents further oxidation from occuring, thereby protecting the steel underneath.
Too bad it wasn't part of the Old E.
