Newbie Question

How do I wipe the oil from my dipstick once I have checked the level? Nb- oil is at correct operating temperature.

hahahahaha. Sorry; long day at work with little oppertunity for creative expression..

Always willing to help a newby. First, as you know, wait until the oil is at least 180 degrees, which means the dipstick should be really hot. Next, drop your pants. Bend over. Insert dipstick. Pinch cheeks together hard. Remove dipstick. See how easy it is? Next week we will discuss the proper way to check to see if your spark plugs work.

Great Kurt - I needed a good laugh today.

Any advice on how to test for CO2 emissions?

Kurt, can I use the same method to check the fuel pressure on a CIS car? I'm not sure if my biological blow-off valve can handle that kind of PSI?

lol Kurt- nice one. Better add for the real newbies out there who might try this home maintenance advice, do not let go of the dipstick! If it drops in the 'tank' you will have a great deal of trouble removing it. <Sigh>- where is this BBS going? From politics straight to the gutter http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif Better post a sensible question to make ammends.

Yes, if you can't wait until dark to see if your plug wires are arcing, you can pee on them during daylight hours, You should immediately know if there are any problems.
