How do I hook up my new O2 sensor?

How do I splice in this new O2 sensor? It has three wires; one black and two white.

Thanks a bunch :),

When you open the insulation on the existing cable, you'll see three wires -- two white and one black. The white wires are for the heating circuit and are not polarized. So, connect each of the white wires on the new sensor to a white wire from the car, and connect the black to black.

When I did mine, I put a piece of heat-shrink tubing over each of the individual splices, and then a big piece of heat-shrink tubing over the entire bundle.

Good luck! SmileWavy

OK, but you said 2 black and 1 white. My sensor has 2 white and 1 black. Do I just do white -> black and blacks -> whites?

Sorry -- I had it "bass-akwards." I've corrected my post.

Awesome ;), thanks for the help. This is for my '84 Targa... like yours.

(I'm going to use liquid electricians tape).

If there's any risk of it rubbing off and the wires shorting, you'd be better off using heat-shrink tubing. The last thing you want is to risk cooking your DME box.
