I suggest posting this in the 930 forum.
But, FWIW, a broken stud is not the end of the world. Some heat and a stud puller will help you to remove what's left of the stud so you can install a new one. If you can't get the stud out, then it can be drilled out (very carefully), but this will require the turbo to be removed from the car. |

I am not an expert but that happened to me also. In my case I was taking the turbo off anyway. I then took the hot housing off the turbo and took it to a machine shop and they extracted the stud.
If you are luckey, after you get the cat & fuller out there will still be some shaft left to try to get a grip on. Otherwise I think you may be able to drill it and use a stud extractor. With all the heat that think went trough may or may not work also. If not, take the turbo off and do as I did. If you do remove the turbo make sure it get primed with oil before you runn it up. Good luck. |

Can you see enough thread to start a nut on it? You may be able to plug weld the nut to the stud. May not be feasible in position...

While off topic, I feel the need to chime in...
I for one, believe your question to be of technical nature, regardless to the type of the car you drive. Just because its a turbo does not mean the question by nature is "turbo" specific. Not only is your question posted in the correct forum, you'll quickly receive many more responses.
