Book says there is a special wiring connector removal tool to get these pins out, is this something I can make? Shouldn't there be a tap in there that has to be depressed?

I just made a tool, piece of 1/8 inch brass tubing (from model airplanes) drilled out to .105 and it worked great, Mirrors are off..
