How to remove tire seal snot from my Fuchs!
 

I am not sure whether I should be really mad yet. I just had new tires installed a couple of weeks ago. I chose a shop after talking at length with the guy about the very nice condition of my wheels and that they need to be VERY careful installing the tires, so as not to scratch my lips, etc. Well, they did it! No scratches... however, after sitting down to clean and Vaseline my wheels last night, I noticed that there is something (like a clear dried thicker liquid) all over my wheels. I am guessing it is whatever they use to seal the tire to the wheel. Is this fairly easy to get off. I searched and did not find anything, but if you know of a previous thread, please let me know. Otherwise, how do I get this crap off without messing up my factory finish (Fuchs with factory SC finish). Oh, this stuff is on the anodized lips as well as the petals...

It could just be dishwashing liquid or something similarly slippery used to lubricate the tire so it slips on to the rim easily. If that's the case, some water aught to take it off just fine. That's what happened to mine a few weeks back.

Yep. It's just tire bead sealer. Nothing difficult to get off. Soap & water.

I guess I thought it would rub off while I was rubbing them down with the Vaseline and soft cotton cloth...

Phew.. OK, I'm good... Apprently the vaseline softened it all up overnight...
