I've moved to LA! and need a good mech

Hey everyone,

I've made the big move from Sacramento to Marina del Ray!

So I'll be looking to hook up for morning coffee and drives, events etc.

If you would be so kind as to let me know where I can get involved :D

And where I can find a good mechanic shop for valve adjustments etc. b/c I won't have a garage until I buy a house and who knows when that will be, right?

I've already done the Malibu canyon drives and can't wait to join some fellow Pelican for fun!!

Thanks everyone and we'll see yah on the roads SmileWavy

Welcome!
Here's a good shop in your neighborhood:

Precision Tech Motorsports in Marina Del Rey, Tel 310-822-4566

Dutch Treats in Lawndale did my PIP. 405 and Inglewood Ave.

If I lived there, I would go with Wayne's mech:

First things first.

Take Lincoln to the 10 West.

10 West merges with California Highway 1 (Pacific Coast Highway or PCH)

Follow Highway 1 North until you reach Latigo Canyon road.

Right turn onto Latigo Canyon.

Inform any passengers to tighten their seat belts.

Unload and grin.

Welcome to Southern Cal.

Ottos in Venice is top notch as well.

mechanic

He is a ways south of you, I recommend Bill Brewster in San Clamente, I live in St. George Utah, and that's where I take my Porsches

Tony Callas at Callas Rennsport in Torrance California. Go make an appointment, and he will schedule a 2-hr walk-around of your car to "enroll" in the shop. Tony is very anal retentive. I wouldn't want to be married to him, but he can work on my car (the 959).

Thanks guys...

The drive down was 490 miles and a great opportunity to wind it out for long distances.

Other than a farm truck pulling out in front of me on the I-5 in BFE, showering the front of the 911 with pea sized gravel ; ( ..... it was mostly uneventful.

Check out this exotic car gathering next Sunday 4/27
There'll be more exotics there than all of Sacto, and it's just 20.min from MDR

Welcome to So. Cal.

I would also suggest Mulholland to Stunt to Piuma.

As for mechanics, I use TRE in the valley (just west of the 405 and north of the 101).

Dave and Jeremy are great guys (and also Pelicans).
