Post Top End Rebuild 'Return Service'

What is the typical service requirement after having a valve job? I'm at 800 miles post rebuild and expect that it should have a looking over;

valve adjust, re-torque, oil change, none of the above?

thanks

At 1,000 miles you retorque the heads. Since you're in there already, a valve adjustment, new plugs, and an oil change are a natural.

At 1,000 I'd check the valve lash, change oil, cut the filter, check the drain plugs, check the plug cut, etc. If it was a magnesium case engine I'd check the torque on the head stud nuts. Start engine, let idle, and spray carb cleaner on all the runner bases to make sure no intake leaks. Check entire engine over for leaks. I'd do all this as early in the day as possible - to get back out there and hit that redline again.
