I have a 88 930 and my oil pressure gauge pegs to 5 all the time, I was told I have a bad sender unit and need to change it, there is a oil pressure sensor located on the right top of the engine by the v belt? Is this the one I need to change? If so how do I get at it? thanks

Before replacing the oil pressure sender, make sure you don't have a broken wire where the sender wire attaches to the female connector on the sending unit.
My oil pressure guage pegged at 5 every time I turned the ignition on; it was a broken wire as discribed above. Regards, Bruce |

some folks have loosened them with a crowfoot, but your chances are slim. you need to remove the AC compressor, lay it on a blanket on the RR fender, remove the AC bracket, disconnect the cam oil hose and remove the long fitting that holds the steel block that the sensor attaches to. put the block in a vise and crack the sender loose with a wrench. reverse to install.
