Newbie - Oil Pressure Light at Idle - HELP

I have just replaced the gauges on my 69T from the stock to "S" gauges which include oil press and temp. I installed a dual post sender/switch and I am getting correct pressure readings, and the oil light comes on before starting and dissapears after cranking. At any idle below 1000 rpm the light comes on but goes away when i accelerate over 1000 rpm. I know I have oil and the pressure is correct so what the heck is going on.
