Ok I was going to replace my pulley seal while the engine was out of the car but couldn't find a way to hold it from rotating. So I re-installed the engine in the car, it still rotates! I have a long breaker bar, What gear should the car be in? I have the rear on Jack stands for access underneath. Should I put the car on the ground? How about E brake will it make a diff?
Thanks again, gotta keep my posts up past 1.334 per day or I'll get yelled at ![]() Shawn |

Shawn,
Put it in 5th gear (less torque multiplication) and pull up the e-brake tight! Unless the e-brakes are worn or out of adjustment, it will be sufficient! Up on stands or not doesn't matter. ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |

Thanks Warren and once again you are right. The bolt came off quite easily, must be because I am strong.
I am replacing the seal but I noticed that the PO must have "fixed" something along the case that was behing the pulley. There is a bead of????? it's like caulking or something. I am going to leave it alone and hope that when I replace the pulley seal the leak stops. If not I have another project for NEXT winter. Shawn |
