Solid motor mounts, I like em!

I switched out my 28 year old motor mounts with new steel ones purchased from our host. The rubber on the old ones were in good condition for their age. The trans mounts are also in good condition so I left them alone. This morning I had the first chance to drive it. The shifting is noticeably improved and accelerating out of turns it feels tighter. I'm happy with this upgrade and it only took 20 minutes to switch em out.

Do you notice an increase in vibrations or noise with the solid engine mounts?

Not really. But my SC has a Monty 2 out exaust, no back seat / padding and track suspension.

I just installed solid tranny mounts and I love the sound. There is definitely more noise and vibration and it's not something I would do for a daily driven street car. I also replaced the motor mounts with sport mounts but they didn't add anything sound or vibration-wise that the tranny mounts hadn't already. I wear earplugs for long highway trips to the track.

I installed the WEVO semi-solid mounts (Engine and transmission). What a racket! I can hear every tooth in my tranny.

I must say most folks would find the cacophony of mechanical noises to be off-putting, but I kinda like it.

I love it but as I said my car is 90% track and I probably wouldn't do it for a garage queen street car. OK I probably would but the sound of these cars is one of my favorite things about them. I suggest to anyone considering them to try and ride in someone's car that has them then decide for yourself.

Fast forward to about the 0:58 mark in this video. There's a slow 2nd gear corner where the wind noise dies down and you can really hear the gearbox whine for the next few turns.
