After a nasty oversteering experience on the way home from picking up my car (with it's rebuilt 915) I've decided to get some new rubber. The current tires are as bald as Mace Windu!!
![]() As I don't do much driving in excess of 90-100 mph, I'm thinking that something like a Dunlop W1-R tire would do nicely in the wet. My car has got 205/60-15 all round. I'd like for it to have a wider footprint at the rear. I know this will lead to a little more understeer, but I don't really mind. I'd like to have something like 215/55-15 on the rear and 205/60-15 on the front. Does this sound right? Anyone got any thoughts on this combo? The PO had larger than 205 tires on the rear once and they rubbed like hell. Melted rubber and smoke everywhere. I'm thinking a lower profile will solve this problem. Thanks for any input AC ------------------ Adam Chaplin - 1976 911S Coupe |
