Oil cross over pipe
Any tricks to removing the oil cross over pipe on a '74. I have the heat ex.s off, the 32mm fitting on the case is mostly blocked by the bypass valve and the oil return tube. The 32mm oil wrench doesn't fit, not enough room between the tube and bypass valve. By turning the 36mm bolt on the cross over pipe they both turn. Is there a better tool to hold the 32mm fitting? Purpose of removal is to remove the oil cooler.

You don't need to pull the crossover to remove the cooler.
But to answer your question, remove the bypass valve and it is easier to reach. You need two wrenches, one to back-hold the union into the case.

OK, the deed is done. I had to do the unthinkable and grind a little off the edge of the wrench to get it in, and it still had to be held at a angle. In order to remove the oil cooler the cross over pipe would have to be pried out of the way, didn't want to bend it.
