Fuel pump options for early cars

I am trying to decide if I should get a new Bosch electric pump for my 2.4 MFI 911, or if there are some other options as far as cheaper fuel pumps that will work.

Has anyone substituted another pump for the original Bosch? If so, let me know which one and how you did it.

According to Pelican, Stoddards, and a few others I have asked, you CANNOT get new Bosch MFI fuel pumps -- at least not the Porsche part number ones.

There are apparently ways to build a replacement using another pump + a pressure regulator, but I do not have a recipe.

I have used a Holley pump from Summit on my '73S. It is internally regulated to 14 psi. I did it about a year ago and do not exactly remember how the plumbing was done. I do remember it was straight forward. I am removing it to put in a proper pump. The Holley is loud.

Anyone have a new or used pump, name your price.

thanks,
Aaron

Could you give us a part number for the Holley? Thanks!

My wrench put on a thumper pump to replace my Bosch for my 1970 911T with Weber carbs. Not sure if it would work for your setup but I believe it was under $100 for the pump. He also mounted it on rubber mounts since it makes a thumping noise and could be really noisy otherwise. It works great for my car and much cheaper than the bosch setup.
