How do I refit the chrome trim....

how do i fit the chrome trim on the rubber that holds the rear quarter window in place?
does it require a special tool?

it's a pain, but soften the rubber in HOT soapy water and work the trim in with the ball of your hand, fingers and maybe a pocket screwdriver to help the reluctant spots slide in. be sure it's completely in, because you won't be able to do any corrections with the assembly installed on the car.

Cheers John

I realise why its so difficult now the window is in place in the car at the moment so I need to take the unit out before fitting the trim. Is that right?

May I humbly ask for what I hope is simple advice?
The black metal trim on the outside (Drivers side quarter window) of my 83 SC came loose at the top corner the other day while I was drying my car. A quick search yielded this post. Am I understanding this correctly? I need to take the window out of the car to reinstall the trim then reinstall the window.
Many Thanks for your help.
