Following the threads on the Front A/C condenser blower and dire warnings of spontaneous combustion I duly stuffed my head into the front trunk and lo and behold no inline fuse fitted - thanks to the list once again - amazing how much you learn here that otherwise would remain hidden knowledge.
I wonder whether the collective expertise of all present can help to identify a couple of mysterious extra fuses I seem to have. Both are fitted in the "G" relay hole - one 5 amp, the other 10 amp. Both look factory fitted - could one be the condenser blower fuse? The only aftermarket things I can think of are radio and alarm - however they do look much too well fitted for the usual bodge up left by those .... The Oil cooler fan relay "E" has also been replaced with a factory-looking 20 amp arangement. So I'm wondering whether the car has had one or more technical updates during it's dealer service history. ------------------ Christian Stewart '87 Carrera Cabriolet christian.stewart@dmstewart.com |

Christian--Just buy an "inline fuse holder"
from your electrical shop--with a 5A fuse. Cut the white wire going to the fan and insert the inline fuse holder between the two cut ends--solder the connections--tape them up and you're all set. If you're not set up to do some basic soldering, I'm sure you've got a friend that can do that for you. George 86T |
