Sunroof Coupe? They would have also had to revive the 911T! (911 Targa)!

I've never seem any "official" answer, either, but lots of good guesses! Maybe it doesn't mean anything.

If you read back about all the P-cars over the years the prefixes that were given were all related to racing.

S (super)
R (Rallye)
T (Touring)
T (Targa)
T (Turbo)
L (Lux)
E (Europe)
S (Competition/Sport)
S (Safari) 1971
C (Carrera)
SC (Super Carrera)
C (Coupe)
RSR (Racing/Sport/Rallye)
RS (Racing/Sport)

The above information was taken from a really good book called Porsche 911 Red Book 1965-1999 by Patrick C Paterine cost $11.95 US ISBN 0-7603-0723-7 by MBI Publishing Company

Don’t you know, that’s how you hit the threshold to DM people that you have a friend that’s selling what they’re looking for at a low price, but you have to text him because he’s not on Pelican.

wow lol . there is a whole lot going on in that statement. :)

Joe, that was a joke, chill out.

There are so many scammers here that need to hit the 5 post minimum to get permission that it only reasons that a 1 day old account with 1 post on a 20-year old post that says “thanks for sharing” is likely a scammer

snatch catcher.
for the win ........ : )

AlKidd 10-15-2021 11:06 AM

In this era of political correctness, that's so inappropriate yet hilarious at the same time.

Sub-Carrera… :D:D

Coastr 10-18-2021 12:16 AM

I have a hard time believing the super Carrera name when there is no original Porsche documentation stating it. It was on the 356 as well.

If you look at his post count and how he posts short answers all over, I think you might be right...

See the first Paragraph. Can someone comment on those HP ratings of the various years, I thought 78-83 were all consistent. Maybe Euro model.

Well, dang. But the fact that those are the euro model ratings makes me think the intern did internet research to write the copy. So I’ll modify my ask - period porsche documentation that says SC for 356 or 911 as Super Carrera.

Weel thats racers stuff.....But in 72 the RS Prototypes where on there way and pre production was planed....

Had been a child then as my birthdate was when the Who played live in Sheffield and G.Hill won a race while J.Clark won a other race. Hill heard: "I´m very glad it was you that won", while Clark was filled with my favorite drink.

I know this is a bit off topic but who knows it ?

Absolutly OFF TOPIC only for the hard guys:

OH forgot Goethe war gut:

MEPHISTOPHELES

And closely in your manual look,
Hereby may you be quite aware
That all he utters standeth in the book;
Yet write away without cessation,
As at the Holy Ghost’s dictation!

This, Sir, a second time you need not say!
Your counsel I appreciate quite;
What we possess in black and white,
We can in peace and comfort bear away.

Ich denke mir, wie viel es nützt;
Denn, was man schwarz auf weiß besitzt,
Kann man getrost nach Hause tragen.
