I am replacing the rear calipers on my 85 carrera- one if leaking a little at the track.
Question- how do you remove the lower bolt from the caliper to the arm? My socket set will not fit. A box end wrench fits- but I can't get enough leverage to break the bolt free.- I don't have a breaker bar that will fit over the wrench, and really don't have room for much of a bar. The rotors were replaced by the dealer less than a year ago, so I doubt if the bolts are too corroded in. Should I just get a friend that is a lot stronger than I am, or is there a trick that I am missing?? I did coat it with penetrating oil, I do know righty tighty, lefty loosy. Thanks- trying to do what I can myself for the fun of it (fun sometimes anyway)- on brakes I will get my mechanic to look over the install when I am done, but I don't want to admit defeat on something that should be this easy. Thanks again Gary |

Those bolts are hard. I used a long double ended box end wrench, and had to really tug on it to get it to break free. Keep trying.
