Am I the only one not seeing a post here??? |

Ok, this is weird. ossiblue created a thread about a bouncing speedo but there is no post. |

Yea, weird! I posted this morning and never had a chance to log on again, then I find nothing appeared! Well here it is: The speedo on my 73 has a bounce at nearly all speeds until I exceed 120 mph;). Is there any easy way to tell if the problem is in the cable or in the gauge itself? |

I just had my (69) Speedo rebuilt to cure an odometer issue. When I reassembled I got terrible bounce. I replaced and removed the cable a few times trying to make sure it was as untwisted as possible and routed with nice wide curves. Third time was a charm and the bounce was cured. I am not an expert but after disassembling mine I cannot think of obvious mechanisms inside the speedo that would cause it to bounce.... |

Thanks Sam, that sounds reasonable. I just got the car and I don't know how old the cable is and given you have seen the "workings" of the speedo, I'll try the cable cure first. |
