Removing Clutch Pressure Plate

Greetings All,
I have an 84 cab and am redoing my tranny. In the process and while I am in there.... I am replacingmy clutch as well. Thought that removing the pressure plate would be easy... well not quite. I removed the 9 allen bolts holding it in place and the toothed ring around the clutch/pressure plate (don't know what its called) came off easily. The 101 projects book says the pressure plate comes off quite easily after this. Well, on my 84, it doesn't! Nothing weird is mentioned in the Bentley either. So, what am I doing wrong??? I've tried prying the thing off with a screwdriver (gently) - no luck. I have looked again to see if I forgot one of the bolts - I didn't. Any ideas?

Semper Fi,

Mike

Get a rubber mallet and tap around the perimeter.

Hey John!
Thanks much. I did try this - honest! It didn't budge. I will try as soon as I get home today. I kept looking everywhere - for bolts that I had overlooked - thinking I had. Anyway, I'll post results tomorrow. Thanks again,

Mike

How about a picture of it? Maybe someone will see something you overlooked.

That was gonna be my next step After I take a sledgehammer to it )) But yes, definately, I will post a pic if the mallet and renewed attack by the screwdriver doesn't work!
