Angry Sunroof won't close!

Help! The other day I was driving my car home and the sunfoof would not close all the way. It will close halfway and then stop. The motor seems to work fine but something is going on in there preventing it from closing.

What do you think?

probably one of the cables broke, binding the panel. you can pull it on the side that's lagging behind, as you work the switch. make sure the rear of the panel doesn't raise up early and scratch the paint. then help push up the rear from underneath to close it.

Might try cleaning the rails that the roof runs in. I changed cables the other day and cleaned the rails. There is a kind of clutch on the drive motor, if the rails are dirty it could be slipping.

When this happened to me, it turned out to be the plastic "clips" which hold the air deflector to the sunroof rails. They were cheap and easy to replace.

I bought the clips from my local Porsche dealer. I don't remember the cost, but it was very low.
