Post 1977 911s speedo adjustment

My speedo registers higher than actual speed.I want to adjust it myself.HELP

What size tires are you using? Do a search for "speedometer" and you'll find more on this subject.
Even with the stock size tires the speedo may not be right on. You stock tire size is 185/75-15 I think. My guess is that you have 205/60-15's which is a popular size and a recommended size for 15 inch wheels on our non-flared 911's.
I don't think there is an easy way to adjust the speedo without going back to 75 series tires...I don't think? I know it kind of sucks watching the miles pile up on the odometer faster than they are supposed to.
