What your layshaft gear "shouldn't" look like...
My machinist noticed this wear on the teeth of my layshaft gear.
It is only on the wearing side of the teeth and he seems to be pretty certain it is just wear from foriegn matter between the teeth. Steel always wins over aluminum.  A replacement is on the way. |

I didn't know layshaft gears came in "woodlands camo". Cool.
