Gen 5 M+K muffler
Just installed Ben's latest Gen 5 M+K 2in1 out on my 3.2 with SSI's.
I've had both the Gen 3 and the Gen 4 so here's some feedback. Gen 3- LOUD booming TRACK muffler. Very freeflowing and plenty of grunt. Annoying resonance at 2000rpms. Gen 4- Loud but quieter than the 3. Still more of a TRACK muffler. After a good long run in sooting up quieted it down further but had to switch car off for the drive through at MacDonalds. Noticeable harmonic disturbance in the form of a light rattle with my engine at lower revs. Still very freeflowing and powerful. Much more acceptable level of resonance in the 2krpm region. Gen 5- quietest of the lot and that's straight from the box. What I would consider a SPORTS muffler. Will imaging it will be very much socially acceptable with a little running in. Mildly less freeflowing? Not sure. Very small, very acceptable level of resonance, still at 2krpm. Still tiny rattle noticed but less again. Build quality looked fantastic on all 3 units, but the Gen 3 did crack bigtime along the welds and into the sheet metal after 6 track sessions, BUT I got a full no quibble warranty replacement sent all the way out to Australia!!!!!! How good is that!!!!??? Gen 4 and 5 look like the internal reinforcements of the extra battling etc to quieten the muffler also likely to brace the unit for strength. The removeable muffler tip is a great, great idea. Helps with shipping cost and for pointing to the ground for sound check readings in suburban track meets! As the muffler's have evolved over time and customer feedback taken into consideration. Teething problems have been dealt with professionally and fairly. Price has been very reasonable and quality high. Very happy. Simon

![]() Just joking ,but I got one of the early 2-in 2-out mufflers from Ben ,must be 3 years back, and in order to send it we left off the outlets to get under the shipping length. Ashamed to say, I havn,t fitted it yet, but I would like to see the "removeable" bit. I know it will be loud and I might look at installing some 'diffusers' in the outlets before I weld them on. --Ideas? ![]() Soon--I promise!!! |

Those are nice: I have one of the very rare Gen X signed by the master himself converted to pure mutant by G2 Performance as you can tell by the welds

Simon,
Did you ever have Ben send you the baffle that he makes for the Gen 2 exhaust tip? I tested one on my early 2 in 1 out (about two years old now ) I am curious to know if they have the same effect? The one I tried quieted down the dbs of the muffler, but not necesarily the 2200 RPM drone . It took away the snarl at low rpm which I really dig in Bens stuff. Wife likes quiet & I like snarl I originally started with a twin out RS style that was way over the top as far as loud is concerned. Covering one pipe out made it more civil but took away performance. I would love to get that RS look back in a quietr set up. Perhaps Gen 5 is there for me now!!!

samson makes a motorcycle baffle that is removable that I'd like to try. If it will quiet a loud Harley, it can't be all that bad. Ben, what is the status on the 3.6 muffler with stock exchangers? Are they being built or do they still come in kit form?

kit form as to many varibles. I may do 1 production run this summer but it would be small and not a normal stock item so require preorder so to speak . I had hoped to set this up with Pelican if they would be willing
