Lets say you had a 1994 3.6 Turbo engine and you were going to rebuild it. Cost was not an issue and you wanted a bulletproof engine that went like a bat-out-of-hell (for the street). What parts would you use and what brands? Things like type of ignition, turbo, pistons, valves, rods, intercooler, etc.

This is on your bank account right?
How about electromotive engine management, ceramic coated pistons, GT cams and twin turbos, 993tt intercooler, twin tripple throat throttle bodies, custom headers, and a rear end with dual 4" dumps and dual wastegate pipes ready to incinerate the car behind them! Does this sound familiar? Take a look at ImagineAuto's site. Pretty much what they are doing right now. [This message has been edited by RarlyL8 (edited 05-24-2001).] |

Do Not Use Electromotive. Of all the options out there, they're the worst!!! Unfortunately, several club racers and I know personally how horrible it is for our turbo motors. Can't comment for NA motors though.

On the engine management part of it, if money was no object...Motec would be the only way to go. However, with such complexity comes vulnerability. If its a street application a Haltech (world's greatest bang for the buck) might be better. Geee, I wonder who has a biased opinion!

hmmm?...well all of the above but you should really go for maximum displacement first.Maybe using CMW's stuff (4.0 liter),including heads and maybe use custom length titanium rods instead of CMWs 'cause ya never know when you might have sustained engine speeds above 8 grand, along with titanium valves.
