New Forum Software Upgrade...

Hi all. I just spent most of tonight upgrading the forums software to the latest version. I'm sure I screwed some features up in the process, please let me know if something has stopped working...

thx,

Wayne

Man, the life of a business owner. Its just all track events and expense accounts!

Thank you Wayne.

It looked cooler for a bit. Now it seems it's back to normal.

RWebb 05-02-2008 11:25 AM

we used to get a black dot or similar at the top level that showed if we'd posted on a thread

- haven't seen that restored yet

Randy,

Its an arrow pointing down now.

Hey Wayne,

Any way we could get a way to rank other members? Ie: if they posted a good answer we could give them a + on their ability to provide quality content. Under the member name in the side bar would be a ranking (0-5 stars or similar). This way I could then pay more attention to the guy with 5 stars giving me answers vs. the mob. I saw this used on the MS Forums and it helped me filter out the rabble for the possibly high quality content to my questions.

Wayne,

Even w/ the (extremely) occasional glitches, this is still the best BBs going! Thanks and keep it up.

RWebb 05-02-2008 01:56 PM

eh?? they all have arrows pointing down -- in a small blue box

at least all the ones that have not been viewed by me

I'm pretty sure this little arrow means you have posted in this thread.
If it is an open envelope and no arrow you have marked it read at some point, but not posted.
Open envelope and bold title = marked read at some point, but with new posts.
Closed envelopes = not read...

I think... and

Best regards,

Michael

Yes, the legend is at the bottom of the page for those icons...

I like it - and it seems much faster

Any chance of making it so that when you click on the "New Posts" link that it will only show you new posts in that particular forum instead of getting new posts from every forum such as BMW, Off Topic, etc?

The "New Post" feature is fantastic on another BB that I frequent, but here it is pretty much useless.

Thanks,
Chuck

Seems to be a lot of double posts.

Wayne,
I checked my orders and the total amount is twice as it should (looks like it's adding all items twice)

pope 05-04-2008 12:06 AM

I doubt the forums have anything to do with the online shopping site. It's probably something else.

The " Thread Contains a Message Written By You You have posted in this thread" does NOT show up for me.

Maybe it does not work with Firefox.

euro911sc 05-05-2008 06:39 AM

Works fine in my FireFox... must just be operator error ;)

I don't get email notification of subscribed thread updates anymore. Might this be related?

Do you ever sleep Wayne?

Thanks Wayne!

Sorta like the "best answer" award used on LinkedIn?
