Simple fix for a floppy visor

I have an 84 Cabriolet, and the driver side visor was fairly flacid. I tried tightening the adjustment screws on the back, and they were as tight as they could possibly be. These are the fixed visors with a metal dowel that fits into a plastic mount screwed into the windshield frame.

After removing the visor, I realized that the dowels were lock tight in the visor, but they were rotating freely in the plastic mounts. I was initially planning to epoxy them into place, when I realized that the mounts were not broken, just that the dowels were not fully seated.

So, I used some gentle pressure with channel lock pliers to press the dowels back into the metal clips and voila! The visors now work as expected, no drooping or slack in them at all.

Hey Welcome aboard and a S Fix to Boot?

Nice.

It appears your PO over tightened it. The adjustments screws need very little tightening to work so your fix will take care of those who may be in the same situation.

Again Welcome.

BTW, where is a pic of your baby?

Heck, it started off sounding like one of those blue pill ads. Glad he got it all worked out.
